Lush - Rub Rub Rub shower scrub, review

Inside a Rub Rub Rub pot there’s the pure essence of summer and that’s not only a matter of scent!
This Lush shower scrub is the very first step to finally dive into the sea: it isn’t a simple body soap but also a very delicate scrub, thus it’s perfect to prepare the skin for hair removal and sunbathing.
This body product is a blue, not thick, cream with a grainy texture; it’s made of sea salt and lemon fresh juice and essence.
Rub Rub Rub is a product with a smart concept behind, in fact it’s a 2 in 1 bath product that cleanses the skin as a normal shower gel or cream does, but at the same time it exfoliates.

Despite its high exfoliating power, it doesn’t irritate nor make the skin dry and leave every and each inch of our epidermis smooth and pleasantly scented.
My skin, which is very dry and prone to flaking, remains silky smooth after a (good) Rub Rub Rub.
Sea salt is so effective in purifying the skin that Lush recommends to use it even on hair, in order to clean our scalp and give extra volume to our mane; however since my hair is totally damaged, I have decided not to try Rub Rub Rub for shampooing.
Rub Rub Rub is very easy to use and will last long time because one needs just a small amount of product each shower. One can also keep it into the fridge for a cooler experience.
It can be applied both on dry skin, for a deeper exfoliation, and on dump skin for a gentle scrub, exactly as I love to use it.
For a pure matter of convenience, most of the time I take a bit of Rub Rub Rub with a spoon to avoid the contact with my hands, but Rub Rub Rub is able to preserve its formula for a long time even with several direct contacts: salt is a natural preservative that has been used by our ancestors for millennia!
This shower scrub brings a sunny summer day with just one sniff: Rub Rub Rub’s scent is fresh, energizing and pretty exotic. It has strong a citrus note, thanks to fresh lemons, but I can definitely detect a light floral jasmine note.
It also contains mimosa and neroli, but they’re not very perceptible.

PROS:
it cleanses the body effectively,
it gently exfoliates,
it leaves the skin smooth and soft,
it doesn’t irritate sensitive skin,
it has a pleasant and fresh scent,
It’s cruelty-free,
it’s vegan,
it’s widely sold on line

CON:
price (it depends)

The only big flaw is Rub Rub Rub’s price: as most, if not all, Lush product, when this scrub leaves the UK, its price increases.

In the UK a 330 gr. pot costs 8,95£, a very honest price, while the bigger pot is 14,95£, but in the US the same smaller jar costs 22,95$! Way too much, I must confess!
Would I recommend it? I think it’s a great product worth a try, but it’s something to buy just if you’re searching for a 2 in 1 product and a very gentle scrub.

Any moisturizing body balm or cream will work well after a shower with Rub Rub Rub because it will be better and quicker absorbed by the skin.

If you open a Rub Rub Rub pot, you’ll know you’re going to have a portable sea breeze!
